Our Doctors of Veterinary Medicine

Community Animal Hospital is proud to have three doctors of veterinary medicine on staff.  When you call to make an appointment, you may request to see one of these doctors in particular to take care of your pet's needs.  If you do not request a doctor, our receptionists will provide you with an appointment that meets your specific time needs.

Alan W. Peterson, D.V.M.                                                                 Annie Viano, D.V.M                                                                    Christie Juliano, D.V.M

Dr. Peterson received his undergraduate training at Columbia University, and earned a Master of Science degree from Ohio State University in 1981. He has worked his entire veterinary career at Community Animal Hospital since graduating from the OSU School of Veterinary Medicine in 1985. Dr. Peterson enjoys small animal medicine and surgery, and is trained in animal chiropractic. His wife, Dr. Jan Robinson, is also a veterinarian, and performs ultrasounds for the practice.

Dr. Viano received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Ross University in January of 2006. She has been practicing at Community Animal Hospital since the beginning of her veterinary career and taken an interest in alternative medicine. In addition to practicing internal medicine and surgery, she has completed training in canine and feline acupuncture. She is interested in integrating Eastern and Western medical ideologies to have the best possible outcome for her patients.

Christi Juliano received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Ross University in January 2004. She is a local graduate of both John Jay High School and Marist College.  She is especially interested in Emergency Medicine and Surgery, nutrition, and dental care. Most recently, she has completed training and certification in stem cell therapy for dog and cats.  Stem cell therapy can benefit animals with osteoarthritis, damage incurred from injury or trauma, immune conditions, and poor physical development by using cells harvested from their own fat tissue.  Christi is married with 2 cats and 1 dog.
